The Quran about faith 6

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

The historical review of events as a whole reflects a permanent struggle for the minds and souls of people. Although the intellectuals of their time developed certain ideologies, doctrines, but the messengers of God were the bearers, or rather the transmitters of the worldviews, who were the main ones that influenced the course of history to a greater extent. As time went by, based on the personalities of the messenger, “established” practices of beliefs – religions – arose. If you analyse the root of all religions, you can trace a single basis, which is hidden behind a large human stratification of thoughts.

Mankind was on one basis. God sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners, and sent down with them the Prescription with truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over the Prescription except those who were given it – after the clear proofs came to them – out of jealous animosity among themselves. And God guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And God guides whom He wills to a straight path.

Or do you think that you will enter into the garden while such has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by hardship and adversity and shock until messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of God?” Unquestionably, the help of God is near. (2:213-214)

The practice of the appearance of messengers indicates a repeated attempt to purify the “foundation of truth” from the distorting superstructure. All those who are not afraid to restructure their views, no doubt, can hope for success:

Indeed, those who believed and those who were jews or christians or sabeans – those who believed God and in the last day and corrected themselves- will have their reward with their Lord, no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (2:62)

Indeed, those who have believed and those who were jews or sabeans or christians – those who believed God and in the last day and corrected themselves – no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (5:69)

Indeed, those who have believed among jews and the sabeans and the christians and the magians and those who associated partners – God will judge between them on the day of standing before God. Indeed God is, over all things, witness. (22:17)

Perseverance in rejecting truth, nature closed from the Light of the Lord led to sad consequences already in this life:

Have they not travelled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? God destroyed them, and made it an example for the closed ones.

That is because God is the patron of those who have believed and because the closed ones have no patron. (47:10-11)

But in fact, until the very last moment, people have a chance to escape punishment:

Then has there not been a city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment for a time. (10:98)

To date, the main example for those who believe is the messenger Abraham:

Indeed, the most worthy companions of Ibrahim (Abraham) among the people are those who followed him and this prophet, and those who believe. Indeed, God is the patron of the believers. (3:68)

Why do we need examples? In order to manifest your degree of faith in real affairs:

You are the best headship raised up for the mankind. You commanded the approved, detained from the hated and believed God.

If only the holders of the Prescription had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are apostates. (3:110)

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west. But righteous is the one who believed God, in the last day, in the maintainers, in the Prescription, and in the prophets, the one who gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask, deprived, – those who establishes prayer and gives purifying expenditure, those who fulfil their obligations when they are oblige to; who are patient in adversity, in harm and in hardship. Those are the ones who have been truthful, and they are those who are circumspect! (2:177)

The logic of the behaviour of any person consists of its value scale, which is formed under the influence of incoming information. Naturally, the divine information is the most ideal platform for building the inner world:

The messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and the believers had. All of them have believed God and in His maintainers and in His Prescriptions and in His messengers.

They said, “We make no distinction between any of His messengers. We hear and we obey. Our Lord! Forgive us! Indeed, to You is the destination.” (2:285)

It is He who has sent down to you, the Prescription. In it there are clear signs – they are the basis of the Book – and others similar. As for those in whose hearts is deviation, they will follow that of it which is similar, seeking to charm and seeking to interpret it. And no one knows its interpretation except God.

But those who firm in knowledge say, “We believe in it. All is from our Lord.”

And no one remembers except those of understanding. (3:7)

Trust to God gives impetus to contemplation, opens the door for understanding your life and generates a sincere appeal to the Creator:

Say, “Shall I inform you of better, what it is?

For those who were circumspect, God will give gardens beneath which rivers flow. There are purified spouses and contentment from God. They will abide there.

Indeed, God is Seeing of servants – those who say, “Our Lord! Indeed we have believed! So forgive us our trespasses and protect us from the punishment of the fire,” (3:15-16)

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding. Who remember God while standing or sitting or on their sides.

They give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, thinking, “Our Lord! You did not create this in vain! Exalted are You! Then protect us from the punishment of the fire! Our Lord! Indeed whoever You admit to the Fire – You have disgraced him! For the obscurantists there are no helpers! Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, ‘Believe your Lord!’ and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our trespasses and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous. Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the day of standing before God. Indeed, You do not fail in promise.” (3:190-194)

And those who came after them, saying, “Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith! Put not in our hearts rancour toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Compassionate and Merciful.” (59:10)

The creator should be believed, because a simple belief in a certain creator is present in all the peoples of the world. Faith or confession is not a guarantee of appropriate behavior. Trust, the sense of security of the soul contributes to the corresponding action:

The believers are only the ones who have believed God and His messenger and then doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives in the way of God. It is those who are the truthful. (49:15)

Priests have developed certain conditions for a person to be considered a believer, but in reality everything depends on personal perception, in relation to the Lord:

They who have believed and do not mix their belief with obscurity – those are in security, and they are guided. (6:82)

The believers are only those who believe God and His messenger… (24:62)

Who can determine whether a person believes God or not? After all, in words you can say anything. Therefore, it is not our prerogative to determine the state of a person in relation to the Creator. A person must decide for himself, trust, or distrust his Lord, and based on the decision already made, his behavior will testify to his inner state.

Say, “He is the Gracious; we have believed Him, and upon Him we have relied! And you will know who it is that is in clear error.” (67:29)

Then those who believed exhort patience and mercy! (90:17)

What actions can “extradite” a person who believes in God? The main quality of the believed is his desire to correct himself:

And We send not the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. So whoever believed and corrected themselves – there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (6:48)

Hearts of those who have believed are calmed down by the remembrance of God. Unquestionably, is it not by the remembrance of God hearts are calmed down?” Those who have believed and corrected themselves – a good shelter is theirs and a blessing. (13:28-29)

Indeed, they who have believed and corrected – those are the best of creatures. (98:7)

Indeed, mankind is in loss,

Except for those who have believed

and corrected themselves

and exhorted the truth

 and exhorted patience! (103:2-3)

It is almost impossible to exist in this field without resistance and intrigues

Private conversation is from disobedient, that he may grieve those who have believed. But it will not harm them at all except by permission of God. And upon God let the believers rely. (58:10)

There are two groups of people: those who sincerely believe in God and others. The Koran often gives a comparison between such people:

Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, and what was revealed before you? They wish to go for judgment to transgression, while they were commanded to be closed from it. Disobedient wishes to lead them far astray. (4:60)

And give good tidings to those who believe and corrected themselves that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before!” It is given to them is similar. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein.

Indeed, God is not timid to present an example – that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord.

But as for those who closed themselves, they say, “What did God intend by this as an example?” He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the apostates. (2:25-26)

Among the people are those who take other than God as equals. They love is similar to the love to God, but those who believe are stronger in love for God. If only obscurantists would understand when they see the suffering that all power belongs to God. Indeed, God is severe in punishment. (2:165)

Beautified for those who closed themselves is the life of this world. They ridicule those who believe.

But those who are circumspect will be above them on the day of standing before God. And God gives provision to whom He wills without account. (2:212)

The places for earthly worship of God are only to be restored by those who believe God and in the last day and establish prayer and give purifying expenditure and do not fear except God! For it is expected that those will be of the guided.

Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the construction of the forbidden for battles place for earthly worship similar to the ones who believes God and in the last day and strives in the way of God? They are not equal in the sight of God. And God does not guide the obscurantists. (9:18-19)

And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and corrected themselves and the evildoer. Little do you remember! (40:58)

Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it. But those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who doubt the hour are in extreme error. (42:18)

The attitude of the Creator to those who believed Him, of course, to put it mildly, is positive:

But they who believe and corrected themselves – those will join the garden, they will dwell therein! (2:82)

Indeed, those who have believed and those who have emigrated and strived in the way of God – those expect the mercy of God. And God is Forgiving and Merciful. (2:218)

God is the patron of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light… (2:257)

Indeed, those who have believed, corrected themselves, established prayer and gave purifying expenditure will have their reward with their Lord! And there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. (2:277)

But as for those who believed and corrected themselves, He will give them in full their rewards! God does not like the obscurantists. (3:57)

God would not leave the believers in that state until He separates the evil from the good. Nor would God reveal to you the unseen, but God chooses of His messengers whom He wills. So believe God and His messengers. And if you believe and are circumspect, then for you is a great reward. (3:179)

They who believe God and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them – to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is God Forgiving and Merciful. (4:152)

And as for those who believed and corrected themselves, He will give them in full their rewards and grant them extra from His bounty.

But as for those who disdained and were arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will not find for themselves besides God any patron or helper.

O mankind, there has come to you a proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light. So those who believe God and hold fast to Him – He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path. (4:173-175)

Your patron is none but God and His messenger and those who have believed – those who establish prayer and give purifying expenditure, and they kneel. And whoever takes God and His messenger and those who have believed as patrons – indeed, the party of God – they will be the victorious. (5:55-56)

But those who committed misdeeds and then repented after them and believed – indeed your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful. (7:153)

Then We will save our messengers and those who have believed. Thus, it is a right upon Us that We save the believers (10:103)

God keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the hereafter. And God sends astray the obscurantists. And God does what He wills. (14:27)

But as for one who believes and corrected himself, he will have a good reward and we will speak to him from our command with ease.” (18:88)

But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued inclinations. They will be misled – Except those who repent, believe and corrected themselves. For those will enter the garden (And) and will not be wronged at all, the unseen garden which the Gracious has promised His servants. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming. (19:59-61)

Indeed, those who have believed and corrected themselves – the Most Merciful will appoint for them love! (19:96)

But indeed, I forgive of whoever repents and believes and corrects himself and then continues in guidance. (20:82)

Indeed, God defends those who have believed! Indeed, God does not like everyone treacherous and closed. (22:38)

But as for those who had repented, believed, and corrected themselves, then perhaps they will be among the successful! (28:67)

Your wealth or your children do not bring nearer to Us, except for those who has believed and corrected themselves. For them there will be the double reward for what they did! They will be in the secure chambers! (34:37)

Say, “O My servants who have believed, beware of your Lord! For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of God is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.” (39:10)

Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe during the life of this world and on the day when the witnesses will stand. The day their excuse will not benefit the obscurantists. They will have the curse, and they will have the worst home. (40:51-52)

Indeed, those who believed and corrected themselves – for them is a reward uninterrupted. (41:8)

It is that of which God gives good tidings to His servants who believed and corrected themselves. Say, “I do not ask you for this message any reward, only love for neighbour.”

And whoever commits a good deed – We will increase for him good therein! Indeed, God is Forgiving and Appreciative. (42:23)

And He answers to those who have believed and corrected themselves. He increases for them from His bounty. But the closed people will have a severe punishment. (42:26)

So whatever thing you have been given – it is but for the enjoyment of the worldly life.

But what is with God is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely. And those who avoid the major sins and excessiveness, and when they are angry, they forgive. Those who have responded to their Lord and established prayer! They consult among themselves in affairs, and from what We have provided them, they spend. (42:36-38)

Those who believe in God should not be complacent, because you have to prove your inner state to the Almighty in practice. To deserve all that is promised by the Creator, one must pass the test:

Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tempted? (29:2)

The test of “gold”, we can say, is the most difficult test for a person. Those who believe God will pass this test easier, because they will not build another god – the “golden calf”:

Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment of God which He brought fourth for His servants and the good things of provision?”

Say, “They are for those who believed during the worldly life in the day of standing before God.” Thus do We explain the signs for a people who know! (7:32)

Those who believe in the Lord are fundamentally different from other people:

Or should we treat those who believe and corrected themselves like corrupters in the land? Or do We set those who circumspect like the wicked? (38:28)

Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and corrected themselves – equal in their life and their death? They judge badly. (45:21)

The main difference between those who believe in the Creator is that they strictly obey His command – to believe the revealed:

Say, “We have believed God and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are humble before Him.” (2:136)

Say, “We have believed God and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are humble before Him.” (3:84)

Tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, before a day comes in which there will be no deals, nor any friendships. (14:31)

So when you recite the Literature (Qur’an), seek refuge in God from the cursed disobedient. Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord. (16:98-99)

…so beware God, O you of understanding, who have believed. God has sent down to you the messenger with the reminder! (65:10)
