The Quran about the death

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

People’s attitude to the death is different, but the fact that it is inevitable known to all.

Every personality will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the day of standing before him. So he who is drawn away from the fire and admitted to the garden has attained success. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. (3:185)

Every personality will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned! (29:57)

Death catches people all the time, but people are mostly not ready for it, because for them it is always unexpected. Man, being careless, lives and behaves as if there is no death. So what is the meaning of death?

Every personality will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as temptation! And to Us you will be returned! (21:35)

Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent! It is He who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving! (67:1-2)

And when life is seething, plans for the future are built, the career is flourishing, but suddenly it all comes to an end. After all, the end of life occurs in different ways in different situations and conditions.

God takes a personality at the time of its death, and the one that do not die during sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought! (39:42)

It would be wrong to say that people do not think about death at all, but it should be noted that the majority try their best to alienate the death, moreover some people dream to avoid it.

Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction. (4:78)

And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid! (50:19)

But such an attitude to death is fundamentally wrong. The death must be treated as the beginning of the next stage of existence, and for this you need to be guided in the near-life not by human fabrications, but by the transcendental source, designed to prepare human for future life – the Quran. It should not be taken carelessly, because the behaviour and even thoughts, everything is taken into account.

And He is irresistibly supreme over His servants! He sends over you guardians until, when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they do not fail [in their duties]! (6:61)

How is human negligence manifested? The fact that they knew, or at least heard about the Day of Debt, about the responsibility before God for their actions, not governed by the divine precepts, believing that it can be done in their old age or to repent before death.

But repentance is not accepted of those who do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “Indeed, I have repented now,” or of those who die while they closed themselves. For them We have prepared a painful punishment. (4:18)

Unfortunately, the human habit to respond after “the horse is stolen”, betrays humanity. Because it is about eternal life in the good state or in the punishment. Awareness of the truth after the “action” is done, is not valid even if a man tried to fix it.

When death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, send me back That I might correct that which I left behind.” No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is an isthmus until the day they are resurrected! (23:99-100)
