The Quran about slander
In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful
To achieve their goals, opponents often use the disinformation of their rivals. Such behaviour was not the exception towards the divine truth as well.
One of the terms used in the Quran is the word “bukhtaanun“, meaning – slander.
In the Prescription we will find examples from all aspects of people’s lives.
Here’s the situation with marrieds:
But if you want to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a great wealth do not take from it anything. Would you take it with slander and manifest sin?! (4:20)
The following life situation:
But whoever earns a mistake or a sin and then blames it on an innocent [person] has taken upon himself a slander and manifest sin. (4:112)
Historical slander is also revealed:
And for their closed nature and their saying against Maryam (Mary) a great slander. (4:156)
There is also a warning to the opponents of believers:
And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves an evil speaking and manifest sin. (33:58)
But believers also need to behave in appropriate way:
And why, when you heard it, did you not say, “It is not for us to speak of this! Exalted are You! This is a great slander!”? (24:16)
O prophet! When the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with God, nor will they steal, nor will they commit fornication, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is approved – then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of God! Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful! (60:12)
