The Quran about ease

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

The majority of mankind spends all of its conscious life on solving various problems. For many, these problems are related to the simplest survival. Being “overloaded”, people get the idea to turn to God. Basically, the appeal to God is expressed in the choice of a certain confession, to which a person traditionally refers himself. However, even there, the believer is awaited by the numerous dogmas developed by the “wise men” for the dense consolidation of the adepts in their direction. Facing such difficulties, people begin to wonder whether they should go back in old life or stay in religion. In both cases, ordinary human weakness prevents people from breaking out of these self-made chains.

And God wants to lighten for you, and mankind was created weak. (4:28)

As can be seen from the above passage, the basic meaning of the divine laws is to lighten the life of people. The tradition of bringing laws to mankind through the prophets in the form of a Prescription was always the same. As the last Prescription for humanity, the Quran clearly shows its role in the life, both of the messenger and the believers.

Prescription revealed to you, – so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom – that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers! (7:2)

People, burdened with various conventions, superstitions in their everyday life and dogmas in their beliefs, were literally stuck in them. The main task of Muhammad was the liberation of his nation and all mankind from such “shackles”.

Those who follow the messenger, the unsophisticated prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who commands them what is approved and detain them from what is disapproved and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the Light which was sent down with him – it is those who will be the successful! (7:157)

The main instrument of the Creator’s messenger for the liberation of people from the captivity of obscurantism was the Quran. Unlike the sophisticated “man-made” instructions, God’s Prescription is easy to guide and is expressed, for understanding and comprehension, in a not-complicated language.

So, We have only made it (Literature – Quran) easy in the Arabic language that you may give good tidings thereby to the circumspect and warn thereby a hostile people. (19:97)

And indeed, We have eased it (Literature – Quran) in your tongue that they might be reminded. (44:58)

And We have certainly made it (Literature – Quran) easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? (54:17)

Regulating social relations, the Quran in its prescriptions is not so categorical. To believing people, God offers a certain system of solutions in various situations. Situations can be both individual and social. Individual refers to:

Prayer:

O you who have believed! When you rise to prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of sexual defilement, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the toilet or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. God does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful. (5:6)

Fast:

The blazing (Ramadan) month in which was revealed the Literature (Quran), a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever witness the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of the counted days. God intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship, that you complete the counted period and glorify God for that He has guided you! And perhaps you will be grateful! (2:185)

The court (which is also belongs to public relations):

O you who have believed! Prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered – the free for the free, the servant for the servant, and the female for the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. But whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment. (2:178)

In any activity, motivation is needed. The main motivation for the believer is his God-fearing, the result of which will be relief granted by the Almighty.

And whoever fears God – He will make for him of his matter ease. (65:4)

Divine relief can manifest itself in situations that people explain only by mysticism. A vivid example of relief is the military events of those years.

When you said to the believers, “Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand maintainers sent down? Yes, if you remain patient and circumspect, they will come to you swiftly. Your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand maintainers having marks. God made it not except as good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from God, the Exalted in Might, the Wise – (3:124-126)

When you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, “Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the maintainers, following one another.” (8:9)

The Creator’s relieving help is manifested not only in the form of maintainers. The help from the Creator can be in the form of the strengthening of weak believers.

Now, God has lightened for you, and He knows that among you is weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who are] patient, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by permission of God. And God is with the patient! (8:66)

Unlike the traditional view, the true duty before God does not carry in itself unreal, impossible obligations. True duty does not “load” believers. On the contrary, believers who really adhere to the Prescriptions of the Lord, guidance through the Quran is not particularly difficult.

And strive for God with the striving due to Him!

He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the duty any difficulty as well as in the community of your father, Ibrahim (Abraham). He named you humble before and in this that the messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people.

So establish prayer and give purifying expenditure and hold fast to God!

He is your Patron!

And excellent is the Patron, and excellent is the Helper! (22:78)
