The Quran about invisible creatures
In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful
Mystical phenomena occupy a large place in human life. Traced by the ancient Greeks, observed in Eastern beliefs, the mystic present in all religions, completely relies on invisible possibilities. This fact is due to the desire to find a connection with the supernatural forces through which people hope to achieve a higher form of state of the mind and body, and also to use them for their earthly purposes. The sources of otherworldly forces are quite intelligent beings. The description of such creations can be found in the Quran.
In the Quran, hidden from human eyes, reasonable, having great possibilities of creation are called by the word “jinn“, which means: hidden, invisible, unseen.
Like humans, gins (hereinafter – invisible creatures) are created to serve their Creator:
And I did not create the invisible creatures and mankind except to serve Me! (51:56)
Because of the limited ability of a man, people could not study the nature of invisible beings empirically, but the Prescription gives the essence of their nature.
And the invisible creature We created before from scorching fire. (15:27)
And He created the invisible creature from a merging of fire. (55:15)
Possessing higher physical and mental capabilities, invisible creatures inspired fear and thrill to people, which was expressed in the deification of these creations.
But they have attributed to God partners – the invisible creatures, while He has created them – and have fabricated for Him sons and daughters without knowledge. Exalted is He and high above what they ascribe! (6:100)
Without the guidance of the Lord, the human mind could only understand that the beings hidden from their eyes are different. This is what the above ayat says, where the division on sons and daughters is a wrong perception of the world. There was no mistake only at the fact of the presence of the offspring of invisible creatures:
When We said to the maintainers, “Prostrate to Adam,” and they prostrated, except for the disappointed (iblees). He was of the invisible creatures and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as patrons other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the obscurantists as an exchange! (18:50)
In connection with his promise and to correct mistakes, God periodically sent messengers to people. Often, to overcome the “bony” look of ignoramuses, the messengers were endowed with special abilities. In particular, one of Solomon’s super abilities was the subordination of invisible beings to him.
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the invisible creatures and men and birds, and they were sorted. (27:17)
A malevolent from among the invisible creatures said, “I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for that strong and trustworthy!” (27:39)
And to Solomon We subjected the wind, blowing back and forth for a month. We gave him a way to put rings in a row.
And among the invisible creatures were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command – We will make him taste of the punishment of the blaze! (34:12)
And when We decreed for Solomon death, nothing indicated to the invisible creatures his death except a creature of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it became clear to the invisible creatures that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating punishment. (34:14)
Because the invisible creatures were also imputed to the service of the Creator, the exhortation of the Most High has not bypassed them.
When We directed to you a group of the invisible creatures, listening to the Literature (Quran). And when they attended it, they said, “Listen quietly.” And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners. (46:29)
Say, “It has been suggested to me that a group of the invisible creatures listened and said, ‘Indeed, we have heard an amazing Literature (Quran)!” (72:1)
The presence of the reason, freedom of choice and the ability to have offspring unite us with invisible creatures. As already explained, the difference is only in the physical shell. Based on this, in the Quran the appeal often happens to two kinds of beings simultaneously.
O company of invisible creatures and mankind! If you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass! You will not pass except by authority. (55:33)
The generality of behavior and intentions dictates the similarity of actions. In its majority, like people, those who are hidden from our eyes are negative about the transcendental source.
Therefore, to discredit this, they fall to a simple lie.
And we had thought that mankind and the invisible creatures would never speak about God a lie! (72:5)
But the lie disappears when the truth is revealed. The truth is in the Prescription of God, which cannot be forged by creations.
Say, “If mankind and the invisible creatures gathered in order to produce the like of this Literature (Quran), they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other helpers!” (17:88)
In their stubborn denial of the signs of God, the tandem of people and invisible creatures tried to harm the messengers of the Lord in every way. Therefore, they are for us an enemy.
And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy – disobedient ones from mankind and invisible creatures, suggesting to one another decorative speech in delusion. But if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it, so leave them and that which they invent. (6:112)
However, an interaction of people and the invisible creatures does not lead to anything good. After all, the impact of invisible creatures on the human brain is very large, which leads to mental abnormalities.
And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the invisible creatures, so they increased them in burden! (72:6)
The voluntary desire to remain in error only aggravates the human condition. Being “one field berry”, people attract negativity to themselves.
And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them, and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of invisible creatures and men. Indeed, they were losers. (41:25)
Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, among headships which had passed on before them of invisible creatures and men! Indeed, they were losers! (46:18)
We do not realize the consequences of our life activity. For all we did, we will have to answer. Those who do not believe in this will face a horrific reality.
And We have certainly created for Hell many of the invisible creatures and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock! Rather, they are more astray! It is they who are the heedless! (7:179)
If there is an absence of faith in the Day of Debt, it is easy to laugh at it and disdain it. But for believers, the behaviour of such persons in the future is clear.
At the day when He will gather them together and say, “O company of invisible creatures! You have achieved a lot from mankind!”
And people patronized by them will say, “Our Lord, some of us made use of others, and we have reached our term, which you appointed for us!”
He will say, “The fire is your residence, wherein you will abide, except for what God wills.” Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.
And thus will We make some of the obscurantists allies of others for what they used to earn.
“O company of invisible creatures and mankind! Did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My signs and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours?”
They will say, “We bear witness against ourselves!” The worldly life had deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were closed ones! (6:128-130)
He will say, “Enter among headships which had passed on before you of invisible creatures and mankind into the fire!” Every time a headship enters, it will curse the other one until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them “Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the fire!
He will say, “For each is double, but you do not know!” (7:38)
They will say, “Exalted are You! You are our patron not them. Rather, they used to serve to the invisible creatures, most of them believed them!” (34:41)
And those who closed themselves will say, “Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the invisible creatures and men. We will put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest!” (41:29)
Then on that day none will be asked about his trespasses among men or invisible creatures. (55:39)
People should not be seduced by the opportunities achieved through interaction with supernatural forces, which are not worth it. Even the recognition of God does not give a guarantee of salvation from punishment, because we will be judged for our actions.
